PARENT SURVEY: Fall Family Return to School Survey - Conducted by OUSD
DESCRIPTION: Oakland Unified School District’s Fall Family Return to School Survey is an opportunity for families to share their thoughts on some in-person options we are considering as well as some improvements for distance learning for this spring. This feedback will help us plan the logistics for reopening and achieve our number one goal of keeping our students safe while ensuring students continue to receive the best education.

OUSD administered multiple surveys leading up to the 20-21 school year to gather information about our COVID-19 response and the diverse needs of families and educators across the district. Listed below are some of the surveys being used to inform decision making.
Student surveys
ELEMENTARY DISTANCE LEARNING SURVEY: 3-5th Grader Distance Learning Experience Survey - Conducted by OUSD

SECONDARY STUDENT SURVEY: COVID-19 Survey - Conducted by OUSD's All City Council (ACC)
DESCRIPTION: As OUSD navigates our education system in a time of a public health emergency, we want to hear from our students on what is working, what is not, and what ideas you have to maintain quality education with equity and students first in mind. The survey is all about understanding the needs of OUSD students right now. It will also allow students to share ideas they might have on how to celebrate our 8th graders and seniors. We also want to learn about the best ways students want to get information and how to get engaged in bringing student voice to the changes that are currently taking place in OUSD. DESCRIPTION: Share Your Voice: How Should Our Schools Come Back from COVID-19? There are so many choices ahead for our district about how to safely open schools and serve students and families. Oakland parents, like you, deserve a seat at the table as major decisions are being made about your child’s education. That’s why OUSD has partnered with GO Public Schools Oakland, NAACP, Latino Education Network, IKUNA, AAYSP, Banteay Srei, Asian Refugees United, and more, to launch this #SchoolAfterCOVID family survey. PARENT SURVEY: Survey for Parents of Students with Dis/abilities - Conducted by East Bay Community Law Center, OUSD's Community Advisory Committee for Special Education (CAC).

TEACHER SURVEY: OUSD Educator Resiliency Survey - Conducted by UC Berkeley, OUSD.
DESCRIPTION: How has the COVID-19 pandemic and distance learning impacted You? We want your voice to be heard. In dialogue with the OEA, and in collaboration with the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education, the SEL Team designed a survey to collect information that will help our district understand how the COVID-19 pandemic, school closure, and distance learning have impacted you emotionally and socially. The information will contribute to building a holistic picture of your experience during this time, bring to the forefront the importance of addressing adult SEL, and inform the types of supports and services needed in reopening and renewing our schools this fall.
