UPDATED COMPREHENSIVE STUDENT DATA ROSTERS FOR SPRING MARKING PERIOD 4 NOW AVAILABLE!

5/15/2015

The Comprehensive Student Data Roster is a student-level Excel spreadsheet containing as many as 100 data points for each pupil.  A school-wide CSDR is available for download for each of OUSD's 86 district-operated schools.  An alternative collection of teacher-specific -- "only my students" -- CSDRs is also provided.  Please note that you must be signed into your OUSD Gmail in order to access the "Protected Student Level Data" folder. If you're having trouble viewing this folder, please contact Rattana Yeang for support.

The CSDR draws from separate data sources to bring together:
1. Demographics
2. Enrollment (current school and teacher(s), current Pathway, prior-year school, and summer school)
3. English language fluency status (as calculated during semi-annual reclassification review)
4. Assessment score series from OUSD Benchmark and California State standardized instruments
5. Engagement metrics (attendance and suspension data)

Fresh data points to the CSDR in the May 15 edition:
1. Mid-Year EL Reclassification
2. CAHSEE Status includes February 2015 results
3. "SDC" and other PEC Program participation flags
Full list in the CSDR Guide

What additional resources are there?
1. Guide to CSDR data points
2. "Make the Most of Excel" guide to exploiting the CSDR
3. Videos on how to filter, sort, and print, in Excel
4. OUSD Data Request for your specific questions

What else should I know?
1. It will be refreshed again after every marking period for secondary schools
2. It will be refreshed again after every trimester for elementary schools

Suspension reports for 2014-15 up through the end of April are online now.  Summary reports "Students Receiving Suspensions," and "Out-of-School Suspension Incidents," for YTD (2015-04-30) are shared as PDF files in the Districtwide - Suspension - 2014-15 folder, for access by all OUSD Employees.  Supplemental spreadsheets and method notes are also shared there, in the "Suspension Report Companion Spreadsheets" Excel workbook.

69 schools have recorded OSS incidents to Aeries.  Leadership for those sites can find further data detail in two special spreadsheets -- "OSS Suspension Incidents" and "OSS Suspended Students Roster" -- in their school's Protected Student Level Data folder.

For questions about these reports, please contact James Tharp.

Student level snapshots for English Language Learners are now available for grades 3-12. This Snapshot was designed to help you understand what the process of reclassification is with supplemental data that you can act on.

In each Protected Student Level Data folder you will find a PDF file sorted by teacher and student name. Data points include performance levels from 3 years worth of California English Language Development Test (CELDT), Fall and MidYear Lexiles from the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI), English results from the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), and Semester 1 ELA and ELD course grades. Users of this report are expected to fill in data points for Fountas & Pinnell and DRA results manually if needed. Because Reading and Writing report card grades at the elementary school level are not readily available to our department, users will need to fill in this information manually as well.

This report is based on data that was used to reclassify students during the Spring Reclassification Window. For more detailed student level data, please refer to the Fall and Spring Reclassification folders in our Google Drive. If you have problems accessing these Protected Student Level Data folders, please contact Rattana Yeang.

For any other comments or questions about this report, please contact Nicole Knight for more information.

Note: Blank versions of this report template are accessible HERE.

Final reclassification rates for the 2014-15 academic year have been published to the Internal Google Drive for each school. Reports consist of 4 years worth of data and are sorted by school and home language. Reclassification rates are calculated based on active English Language Learner students from the previous academic year who were reclassified in the following academic year.

For student level data listing which students were eligible or not eligible for reclassification, please refer to the Reclassification Folders located in the Protected Student Level Data Folders in the Internal Google Drive. You will find additional information on each of the criteria needed to be eligible for reclassification (CELDT proficiency, SRI, CAHSEE exemption...etc).

If you have problems accessing the Protected Student Level Data folder in our Internal Google Drive, please contact Rattana Yeang. For any other comments or questions about this report, please contact Nicole Knight for more information.
