We are asking that Network leaders please inform school leaders that this summary report is now available. They can find it by:
1) Clicking on “Reports” at the top of the webpage and then “Internal Data Reports”
2) Clicking on “00_OUSD Districtwide”
3) Open the “Scholastic Reading Inventory” folder and then click on “2014-15”
4) Open the file “OUSD Districtwide – Gr 2-5 - SRI Performance - Admin 1 - 2014-15.pdf”.
In addition, a student SRI roster for each school has been loaded to the schools’ “Protected Student Data” folder on the same reporting website at www.ousddata.org. It includes the best Lexile, Reading Grade Level, and SRI Performance Band for each student that took the SRI during the testing window, and is meant to accompany the summary Performance report described above.
New SRI Lexile Ranges
We are changing our grade level equivalencies in Scholastic Achievement Manager (SAM) to match the new Common-Core aligned Lexile Bands. This is in response to both site leader feedback about the confusion inherent to multiple and competing proficiency ranges, and the current reality of Smarter Balanced assessment implementation at the end of this 2014-15 school year. For this reason it is NOT recommended that users compare district and school SRI performance to reports from past years.
We recognize that increasing the targets will negatively impact the longitudinal data describing proficiency rates at school sites. We urge principals and teachers to continue to focus on honoring student growth and pursue adequate and accelerated yearly growth, and to remember that Lexile is but an initial screener and single measure of student reading ability.
Please note, for this year, the use of SRI cut score for reclassification of English Learner will not change. These will still be based on old Lexile grade level equivalencies.

For an additional chart based on the new Lexile ranges, click HERE. Schools are encouraged to pull their own school level performance/growth reports from SAM as soon as testing is completed. It is NOT recommended schools wait for the district data reports to start their cycles of inquiry. RAD will only produce district-level reports for SRI.
